America in the 1960s

On February 13, 2020, Humanities Texas held a one-day workshop in College Station on America in the 1960s.

Curriculum

Faculty lectures addressed LBJ and the Great Society, the civil rights movement, the Cold War and Vietnam, and protest movements of the decade. Content was aligned with the TEKS for U.S. history. The workshops featured close interaction with scholars, the examination of primary sources, and the development of effective pedagogical strategies and engaging assignments and activities. Teachers received books and other instructional materials.
