This April, in honor of National Poetry Month, Humanities Texas has added a number of standout online poetry resources to the English Language Arts Resources section of our website. These websites feature texts of poems as well as lesson plans, videos, and other interactive elements that will enhance classroom instruction and generate student interest in poetry. As with all of our online guides, these verse-focused sites support the teaching of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).

In last month’s Teacher Feature, we asked about your favorite online educational resources. We would still love to hear from you! What humanities-based websites or digital collections are particularly useful for preparing lessons, assignments, and in-class activities? What websites have your students found helpful or interesting? Please send your response to ota@humanitiestexas.org, and we will feature popular and innovative online resources in a future e-newsletter.
