Beth Hudson, a 2007 winner of Humanities Texas's Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award, was named the Texas Council of Social Studies' 2010 Outstanding Middle School Teacher of the Year. Hudson, who now teaches at O. Henry Middle School in Austin, combines the study of classic literature with that of history, sparking her students' enthusiasm for both.
