In honor of San Antonio's Tricentennial Celebration, the Witte Museum will debut the exhibition 300 Years of San Antonio History: Confluence and Culture on March 3, 2018, and will host a Speakers Conference from March 23–24, 2018. The exhibition and conference will explore the environment, people, and traditions that formed San Antonio into the complex, vibrant site of convergence that it remains to this day. In the two days of the conference, scholars and experts on San Antonio history will present newly found evidence that illuminates the understanding of San Antonio's past—a linear trail of exigencies, trends, and technologies that combined to form the city's present blend of cultures and traditions. The Honorable Joe Straus, Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, will give the keynote address.
