Following Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Humanities Texas convened a meeting of statewide organizations and agencies to share information about our respective recovery initiatives and to explore collaborative efforts addressing preparedness for future natural disasters. To the latter end, we have compiled a list of resources for hurricane response and recovery, including information on upcoming workshops and links to guidelines for the protection and preservation of historic properties and humanities collections as well as personal archives and family heritage items.
Please see our July/August 2020 e-newsletter for an updated list of resources.
In September 2017, Houston Arts Alliance will hold free Disaster Resilience Workshops in Liberty, Clute, and Conroe. Participants will learn from national experts about the disaster planning process and contents of a disaster plan, hear about business continuity issues, and receive information about resources to help with planning for the next potential disaster.
