Jan Epton Seale teaches life-story writing at museums, retreats, seminars, and retirement centers. She serves on the board of the Valley Land Fund, a natural resources preservation group. Her publications include Homeland: Essays Beside and Beyond the Rio Grande (1995); Airlift: Short Stories (1992); The Nuts & Bolts Guide to Writing Your Life Story (1998); and six books of poetry.

Passing the Light: How Elderwisdom Shapes the Future of Families
This presentation explores the benefits of family stories and autobiographies to heirs and other listeners. Special attention is given to the means of recalling and collecting personal stories with emphasis on the wisdom of seasoned experience.
