New in 2006–2007


Images of Valor: U.S. Latinos and Latinas of World War II
Through images and stories, "Images of Valor: U.S. Latinos and Latinas of World War II," created by the U.S. Latino & Latina WWII Oral History Project in partnership with the School of Journalism and Center for Mexican American Studies, The University of Texas at Austin, provides a historical overview of U.S. Latino participation in World War II.

Jasper, Texas: The Healing of a Community in Crisis
"Jasper, Texas: The Healing of a Community in Crisis," a photographic exhibit organized by Dr. Ricardo Ainslie, Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin in collaboration with documentary photographer Sarah Wilson and aided in part by a grant from Humanities Texas, addresses the role the Ministerial Alliance played in helping the community of Jasper heal after the murder of James Byrd Jr.

Neches Journeys: Land, River, and People
In collaboration with The History Center in Diboll, Humanities Texas has prepared “Neches Journeys: Land, River, People,” a traveling exhibit on the cultural heritage of the Neches River Basin featuring images and interpretative materials about the river, the flora and fauna, and the people and cultures of the area.
