Life on the Nile

Life on the NileExhibit

Created by a native of Sudan, the exhibit uses color photographs, descriptive texts, and artifacts to provide a vivid introduction to the town and people of a Nubian village on the banks of the Nile. Viewers of all ages, especially students in elementary grades, will be fascinated by daily life and special celebrations in Az-Zawrat.

Exhibit format

Freestanding only. 20 wood-framed panels (8 double-sided units and 4 single-sided units) of photographs and 3-dimensional artifacts organized behind plexiglas. Panels are 32” wide x 42” high and attach to wooden poles to stand 72” high. 

Shipping weight (2 wooden crates, 1 fiber case): 350 lbs.
Floor space required: 10’ x 20’

Supplemental materials

  • Brochure, illustrated narrative of life in the village from the viewpoint of a native. 50 copies free with exhbit.
  • Stickers for children who visit the exhibition. 150 free with exhibition.
  • Teacher's guide, information about exhibit themes, questions and activities for classes. Especially suited to elementary school students. 5 copies free with exhibit.
